Results have been calculated for the Battle of the Bells to benefit the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. Times Observer won with a total of $742.48 while Radio Partners, LLC raised $209.21. According to Major Ron Starnes of the local Salvation Army, the Times Observer brought in $701.30 and the radio station collected $224.33 last year. "The battle of the bells against the radio stations is never about winning or losing," said Times Observer Publisher Bob Patchen "We just want to raise as much money as possible for the Salvation Army."
"I'm overjoyed that we raised $951.69 in four hours," said Patchen. "Next year, I'd like to top $1,000."
