Warren Mall

Warren Mall

Dear editor:

What would happen to Warren if we actually had a wonderful Mall? We could potentially get lots of visitors and a boost to our economy, that's what. Jamestown and Erie have people coming and going, many of whom are from Warren. Because of the many choices available in Jamestown and Erie people travel there to shop and have fun.

Warren has been reduced to a Wal-Mart, a few Dollar Stores, Game Stop, some restaurants, some hair salons, and that is about it. In addition the Warren Mall is a wreck. The parking lot is still a disaster. The pot holes are a bit better, but the way they were fixed is temporary rather than actually repaved.

The Mall is like a ghost town, hardly any of its stores are left, only K-Mart, Big Lots, a small nail salon, Bon Ton, and Napoli Pizza. The new manager promised new stores and a lively wonderful Mall by September 1st, but there still are no new businesses in the mall. She wants more restaurants, and hair salons, and other stores.

All those ideas are fine, but in my opinion there are just too many restaurants and hair salons in Warren and pretty much where ever you go. I feel a Chuck E. Cheese would attract lots of people to Warren. The closest one is in Erie, and many people from here visit that one regularly. Another wonderful addition to the mall would be a book store like Barnes & Noble. The Warren-Jamestown area has no bookstores that sell new books. Instead of having everyday things that you could just drive to Jamestown for, we should think of more exciting things that would draw people's attention and bring them to Warren.

More business in a small community like this would be good, good for bringing money into our area, good for bringing more jobs to the people here, good for the people who are already here. If the mall were to bring in businesses which would in turn bring in shoppers and visitors it would be great for Warren. Rather than Warren's population driving out of town to shop and play, people would come in to Warren for opportunities not readily available to them.

Please consider getting a Chuck E. Cheese and some other unique stores in the Warren Mall soon.

Sincerely,

Rebekah Casey,

Warren
