RUTH SMITH

Ruth Adah Smith, 94, of United Ave., Warren, Pa., passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Warren General Hospital.

Ruth was born August 24, 1917, in Kellettville, Pa., the daughter of the late Art and Zella Hopkins Blum. Ruth grew up on Dutchman Run in Claren-don, and graduated from Warren High School in 1936. Ruth was employed at the New Process Com-pany, AAA, Jensen Paint Company, and as a book-keeper at Smith Buick and Oldsmobile. She was a member of the former First Baptist Church and most recently, a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Friendship Sunday School class. Ruth was a devoted wife and mother, immacu-late housekeeper and an ex-cellent cook. She espe-cially enjoyed hosting small dinner parties. She also enjoyed her roses, trav-eling and golfing.

She is survived by her son, Thomas William Smith, Warren; nieces, Marilyn Miller, and hus-band, Jim, Youngsville, Annette Angora, Rochester, NY, Roberta Arden, who lived with Ruth and Phil for a few years, and hus-band Jay, Wisp, WA, Judith Henry, Oxford, PA, and Joyce Font, and husband Jeff, Russell; nephews, Wil-liam Blum, who also lived with Ruth and Philip several years, Richard Smith, and wife, Clare, Titusville; and special friend, LuAnn Reichard Munksgard, Warren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on March 4, 2012, by her husband of 72 years, Philip L. Smith, whom she married on January 24, 1940, in Erie, Pa.; brothers, Harry and Russell Blum; and nephews, Charles and Melvin Smith and Arthur Blum.

Friends will be received at the Grace United Metho-dist Church, 501 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, on Tues-day, May 1, at 11 a.m. for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there at 12 noon, with Rev. Dr. Jef-frey D. Sterling, Pastor, First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Oak-land Cemetery, Warren, Pa.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Warren County, 2 Crescent Park, West, Warren, PA 16365, or Grace United Methodist Church 501 Pennsylvania Avenue East Warren, PA 16365.

The Peterson-Blick Fun-eral Home, Inc., has been entrusted with arrange-ments.
