John E. Long, 76, of Preacher Hill Road, Tidioute, PA, died Sunday morning, April 29, 2012 at his home. He was born in Verona, PA, August 2, 1935, a son of the late Hen-ry J. and Olive Mae Wise Long. Prior to retirement in 1998, he had worked as a carpenter in building maintenance for the Rock-wood School District in St. Louis, MO.
He had lived in the Tidioute area for the past twelve years and was a member of Saint Johns Ro-man Catholic Church in Tidioute.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette (Toni) Vanek, at home, a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Cheryl Anne) Washington, of Ellisville, MO. and two grandchil-dren.
Friends will be received at the James M. Higgins Funeral Home, 3 Elm Street, Tidioute, Tuesday evening, May 1, 2012 from 4 until 6 P.M. at which time a Funeral Service and Com-mittal Service will be held with Father Joseph Czar-kowski officiating.
Interment will follow Wednesday, May 2nd, in Lakewood Memorial Gar-dens, Cheswick, PA.
