Ryan Smith had three hits and Jim Greville, Rich Geer and Don Stitt added two apiece for Buckhorn in a 14-5 victory over Club Buck in late Over 30 Softball League play Tuesday at Betts Park. Ed Gadley was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles in defeat.

Scholastic trap

The Warren County Scholastic Trap League officially ended its season Tuesday with 141 of the league's 191 shooters competing against each other in a 25-bird Field Day competition at Sugar Grove AmVets.

The students were divided into 11 classes made up from the averages shot by the shooters during the season. One of the classes was made up of students that have been in the league and have graduated from school. The classes start with AAA (highest average) and go through the D class.

There were several ties within classes and places were decided with one miss and you are out shoot offs. Trophies were given out for high season averages and the winning team. Corry won the league for a second straight season.

Corry's Ashley Walton was the league's high gun for the ladies with an average of 95.429. The runner-up was Sheffield's Erica Boutelle who finished with a 92.571. Eisenhower's Ethan Black was the high gun for the males with an average of 94.857.
