EmergyCare blasted its way to a big lead in a hot and dusty Girls Minors game on Saturday afternoon in Youngsville. Once State Farm's bats warmed up, the visitors tied the score up with four straight hits and six runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Celia Chase had two hits for State Farm, and Marissa Grubbs stabbed a hard line drive at first on defense. For EmergyCare, Alexis Nyquist reached base four times and had three hits, as well as several nice defensive plays at shortstop. Sadie Hoffman added two hits of her own - and earned an ice cream incentive from her mom.
