Several students from Warren County graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford on April 29.
Students from Warren County who received associate degrees are Jon Nagurney, a petroleum technology major from North Warren; Teddy R. Babcock, a petroleum technology major from Russell; Nancy S. Scott, a nursing major, and Ronald E. Peat and Jonathan Charles Welch, both petroleum technology majors, all from Warren.
Students from Warren County who received a bachelor's degree are Christina Briggs, a business management and computer information systems and technology major from Bear Lake; Kayloni Leigh Smith, a broadcast communications major, and Harmonie J. Kibbey, an English and English education 7-12 major, both from Clarendon; Tawny Lee Crocker, a broadcast communications major, and Laura Lee Long, a sports medicine major, both from Pittsfield; Dane Kinsman, a history-political science major, Nichole Neall, a psychology major, and Kristina Lyn Fithian, a radiological science major, all from Russell; Kamie Laih, a human relations major, Ryan Michael Rizzardi, a public relations major, Kimberly Truhlik, an accounting major, Courtney M. Baughman, an athletic training major, Mitchell Ellsworth Boston, Samantha Jo Harris and Regina Marie Ransom, all business management majors, Matthew James Abplanalp, a chemistry major, Jason M. Halle, John David Lewis and Devin R. Ruhlman, all elementary education majors, Joshua Shepherd, a psychology major, and Ashley D. Zaffino, a sports medicine major, all from Warren; and Kevin James Blackwell, a criminal justice major, and Danielle Kenney, a sociology major, both from Youngsville.

Additionally, Long was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society.

Krystal Gage, daughter of Lynn and Linda Gage of Warren, will attend the Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University in Philadelphia this fall. Gage is a 2009 graduate of Warren Area High School and earned an undergraduate degree in biology from Pennsylvania State University, Erie.
At Penn State, Gage was a member of the 3+4 Dental Program with a grade average of 3.92. Within the program, qualifying students can finish their professional school program after three years of undergraduate study. To be accepted, students must earn a minimum of 90 credit hours with a grade average of 3.2 or better, earn the minimum scores on the Dental Admissions Test (DAT), and have significant volunteer exposure to the health care profession. Member must demonstrate motivation and personal qualities suitable for success in a DMD program and career in dentistry. Gage is the first student through Penn State to be accepted into the program.
At Penn State Erie, Gage was an active member in numerous campus organizations including Alpha Sigma Tau, a social sorority; Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society; Beta Beta Beta, a biology honor society;and the National Society of Leadership and Success. She also was named to the dean's list each semester.

Alexandria M. Shrefler of Warren has been accepted at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for the fall semester. She is the daughter of Karla Franklin, Brent Franklin and Todd Shrefler. A senior at Sheffield Middle Senior High School, she has been active in marching band, choir and madrigals. Shrefler has not decided on a major. She plans to participate in choir and marching band.

Eric Zavinski, a student at Warren Area High School, has been selected for membership by the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS). The society recognizes top scholars and invites only those students who have achieve academic excellence. Members have opportunities for scholarships, academic competitions, free events, resources, publications and more.

Damion Michael Wise earned a doctor of pharmacy (Pharm. D.) degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy on June 3 at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie. He also graduated from Mercyhurst College with a dual degree in sports medicine and biology. He is employed by Walmart Pharmacy. He is the son of Jerry and Rosanne Wise of Warren.
