Joyce E. Sedlak, 72, of 990 Miles Run Road, Spring Creek, Pennsylva-nia, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012 at her residence.
Joyce was born in Miff-lin, Pa on April 23, 1940, a daughter of the late Jean (Snavely) and Lawrence Shugarts.
She was employed as a teachers aide at Warren State Hospital for several years. She was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Youngsville where she belonged to the Alter Rosary Society and had taught catechism in the past.

She was a member of the of the Youngsville Ameri-can Legion Post 658 Auxi-liary where she served as the chaplain. Joyce en-joyed knitting, reading, and crossword puzzles. She very much enjoyed visiting with her family.
She was the wife of Mar-tin J. Sedlak whom she mar-ried on Nov 1, 1958 in St. Luke's R.C. Church in Youngsville.
She is survived by her husband, and four children: son Patrick K. (Lynn) Sedlak, of Woodbridge, VA; daughter Marie L. (Chris) Sedlak Lupone, of Kennett Square, Pa; daughter Diane M. (Gary) Brookhart, of Woodward, OK; son James L.(Gina Jo) Sedlak, of Elizabethtown, KY; two sisters: Louise Shivery, of Mifflintown, Pa; Sandra Kirk, of Mifflin-town, Pa; one brother: Lawrence Shugarts, of Miff-lintown, Pa.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Matthew, Caleb, Mariah, Joshua, Haven, Stephanie, Courtney, and Derrek, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 10 - 11 a.m. in the Gathering space at St. Luke's R.C. Church in Youngsville where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 28th, with the Rev. Father John Neff officiating.
