Jaskolka, Post 135 blank Corry for key Legion win

June 28, 2012
The Times Observer

Hank Morrison hit a walk-off line drive base hit to center field with the bases loaded to give Warren Post 135 the 1-0 Warren County Senior American Legion Baseball League win over defending champion Corry Northwest Savings Bank in an eight-inning pitchers duel on Wednesday at Old Legion Field.

Matt Jaskolka struck out the side in the eighth inning, and racked up 14 strikeouts in the nasty complete-game two-hit shutout. Jaskolka also struck out the side in the third, and he only walked one batter.

After Brad Walters got on base with a single in the bottom of the eighth, Andrew Bevevino bunted and beat out the throw to first for another of just six Post hits in the game. Mike Munroe was walked to load the bases, and Morrison drilled the line drive to end the game between two one-loss teams.
