Northwest names Shawn Walker Executive Vice President

Shawn O. Walker
Shawn O. Walker has been named executive vice president, chief marketing officer of Northwest Bank. Steven G. Fisher, senior executive vice president, chief revenue officer, made the announcement on December 15, 2017.
As the company’s chief marketing officer, Mr. Walker has executive oversight of all retail, commercial, small business, investment management, trust and insurance services marketing activities. He is responsible for brand strategy and management, customer experience, channel communications, advertising, sponsorships, segment marketing, marketing research, sales training and execution, online marketing, merchandising and promotions and events. In addition, Mr. Walker plans, directs and coordinates the corporate marketing budget and is accountable for marketing compliance.
In his role, he serves as the liaison between Northwest’s lines of business, operational support teams and seven operating regions across Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio, aligning marketing, business development and communication strategies, as well as customer analytics, technology and support, to deliver value-driven products and services, enhance customer experience, deepen customer relationships and drive revenue growth in accordance with the bank’s strategic plan.
Mr. Walker currently serves on a number of Northwest management committees, including Executive Management, Asset-Liability, Credit, Information Technology Steering, Trust Management, Northwest Advisors Governance, Products and Services Governance, Business Continuity-Office of the President and Business Development and Marketing. He is also a board member of Northwest Insurance Services.
Mr. Walker joined Northwest in December 2008, and previously held positions as vice president of marketing and senior vice president, chief marketing officer. He has more than 23 years of marketing experience.
Mr. Walker holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. He’s a graduate of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association (PBA) Advanced School of Banking, where he received highest honors and the Phillip O. Benham, Jr. Leadership Award, and the American Bankers Association (ABA) School of Marketing Management, where he graduated top honors. He’s currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.
Mr. Walker earned his Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) designation from the ABA’s Institute of Certified Bankers, and serves as a member of PA Bankers’ Public Relations and Communications committee.
He lives in Warren with his wife, Suzanne, and their four daughters.
