Friends, family, and strangers on social media are commenting on Jessica, wishing the family well, and sharing the campaign.

While family was unavailable for comment about the campaign on Friday, Helmeczi shared this statement on her Facebook page Friday afternoon:

“In the midst of all the craziness and dreariness that my family is going through, I … just need to put these words out. I am amazed by the generosity of people not just in the monetary donations that you are making to pay for my niece’s funeral, but the hotel and community and how they have been so accommodating and understanding. I really appreciate all the prayers from everyone and I can see God’s hand at work.”
