Clarendon VFD responds to boat fire

Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department received a call Monday evening for a boat fire at 632 Chapman Dam Rd., Clarendon.

The boat was located outside in a driveway at the time it caught fire. Subsequently, there was no damage sustained to any surrounding buildings.

According to fire chief Terry Gregerson, the fire was accidental.

No one was on or near the boat at the time it caught fire and no injuries were sustained. No one had to be rescued.

“It’s junk,” said Gregerson, regarding the damage that the boat sustained.

It took Clarendon VFD approximately 30 minutes to knock down.

Pleasant VFD stood by at the Clarendon fire station in case of needed assistance.
