Betty Mahan
Betty R. Mahan, 84, of Warren, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at John Blair Hospice House.
A lifelong Warren resident, Betty was born September 15, 1932, in Sugar Grove, PA. She was the daughter of the late Roy W. and Bessie Sabra (Groves) Reynolds. Betty was a graduate of the 1950 class of Warren High School. She worked for Northwest Savings Bank for 25 years, from which she retired. Betty and her late husband were known for their love of music; Betty was a charter member of the Sweet Adeline’s. She was also a member of the First Church of God where she enjoyed music and sang many solos. Betty will be long remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Betty is survived by her three sons, Robert Mahan, and wife, Julia, of Warren, PA, Jeffery Mahan, and wife, Molly, of Oneonta, NY, and Larry Mahan, of Canton, OH; eight grandchildren, James Mahan, and wife Crystal, Tara Mahan Thomas, and husband John, Leah Mahan Newton, and husband Rob, Michael Mahan, and wife Tammy, Kristen Mahan Lautanan, and husband Matt, Maggie Mahan, Jamie Mahan, and wife Kenzie, and Sara Mahan ShieldLynch,; two stepgrandchildren, Wayne Goulet and Eva Goulet Williams, and husband John; twelve greatgrandchildren; three siblings, David Reynolds, and wife, Sue, of Russell, PA, Roy Reynolds, and wife, Kendall, of Warren, Ralph Reynolds, and wife, Barbara, of Phoenix, AZ,; a brother in law, Bruce Maze, of Erie, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on July 8, 2016, by her husband, Paul R. Mahan, whom she married June 2, 1951; three brothers, Jack, Eugene and Ellwood Reynolds; and two sisters, Marian Fishinger, and Shirley Maze.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Monday, March 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the First Church of God, 1111 Madison Ave., Warren, at which time a funeral service will be held there with Rev. Bill Hargenrader, officiating.
Burial will be in Foster Cemetery.
