Arvilla Erickson
Arvilla I. Erickson, 96, of Warren, died Saturday, December 9, 2017. Arvilla was born November 9, 1921, in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of the late Leon G. and Ruth O. (Goodwin) Ittel.
Arvella was a 1939 graduate of Warren High School. She worked 6 years in the merchandise department of the former New Process Company as a secretary. Following her time at the New Process Company, Arvella was the Assistant Corporate Secretary of former National Forge Company where she was employed for 35 years, retiring in 1980.
She had been President of the former Warren Business & Professional Women’s Club in the 1950s. She was involved in various church organizations during her lifetime. She worked as a volunteer in the Genealogy Department of the Warren County Historical Society. She was a member of the Warren First Church of the Nazarene, and a former member of the Russell United Methodist Church. A woman of many interests, Arvella enjoyed reading, bowling, golfing, and domestic and foreign travel.
She is survived by her twin sister, Verta M. Ittel, of Warren; nephew, Leon G. Ittel, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; stepdaughters, Sandra Benoit, and Barbara Erickson, both of Erie; as well as several step-grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Arvella was preceded in death on October 14, 1997, by her husband, Virgil G. Erickson, whom she married December 1, 1961; and her brother, Phillip M. Ittel.
A memorial service will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, 907 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Thursday, December 14, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. J. Maier, pastor, officiating.
Private burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
