Myron L. Sorenson

Myron Sorenson passed away at the age of 92 with his family beside him. He was born in Cherry Grove, PA and was the 8th child of 10 to his parents, Henry and Flossie Sorenson. He graduated from Warren H.S. in 1945, and immediately joined the Navy. He served his country proudly in WWII on the USS Franklin D Roosevelt in the Atlantic.

Upon returning home, he attended Coyne Electrical School. In 1952, he met the love of his life, Joyce Merry. After marrying, they relocated to California where they started their family. They raised their 3 children on a peach ranch in Brentwood, where he resided until his death. He retired from DuPont in 1985 after 29 years. He enjoyed farming, camping, hunting, going to casinos and time with his family and friends.

Myron is predeceased by his parents, four brothers, and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce Sorenson, his son Gerald (Ruth) Sorenson, daughters Marsha (Harlan) Carlson and Judy (Lee) Daversa, plus several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, one sister, Janice Fedorchick of Cherry Grove, PA, one sister-in-law, Florence Sorenson of Hermitage, TN and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life was held in Brentwood, CA on August 17, 2019, and Burial Service will be held at the Sorenson Family Cemetery, 110 Farmhouse Lane, Cherry Grove, PA on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 at 10:30 am followed by a lunch reception at the Sheffield Fire Hall, 318 S. Main St., Sheffield, PA.
