Pennsylvania 4-H week to be celebrated
Pennsylvania 4-H Week will be celebrated across the state on March 14-20, as 4-H youth and volunteers will be actively informing Pennsylvania citizens about the 4-H program and how it benefits participants, families and their communities. The Pennsylvania 4-H program prides itself on emphasizing the learn-by-doing approach. The 4-H program is very appealing to young people and allows them to explore current and new interest. Members are encouraged to try new things in 4-H. Some new and/or innovative programs that are available across Pennsylvania include the 4-H interstate exchange program, workforce readiness, animal science, and leadership development. Several activities to promote the 4-H Youth Development program will be held starting early in the weekend with a horsemanship skills clinic in Warren County on March 13, the 4-H In-betweeners Retreat in Butler March 12-14 and the state livestock judging contest held in State College on March 20 will complete the week.
