Up and over
Eisenhower’s Jaryd Shield (10) shoots over Rochester’s Artrell Allen (23) during the second quarter of Saturday’s PIAA Class AA Boys First Round playoff game at Ambridge High School. The Knights started well, but fell 43-29.
AMBRIDGE — The clock struck midnight on Eisenhower’s Cinderella season on Saturday. But not before the Knights proved to themselves, and to the hundreds of fans in attendance at Ambridge Area High School, that they belonged on the floor with the best that the PIAA has to offer. In the second half, we got off our game and let them play theirs and they just took over.” A large contingent of blue and gold Eisenhower-clad fans made the nearly three-hour trip to Ambridge and, for a half, the Knights seemed well on their way to the first boys PIAA basketball victory in school histor.
