Contract released; Posted on web site

On Tuesday, the Warren County School District provided The Times Observer with an official copy of the professional services contract between the district and the Warren Area Education Association school district faculty. The contract was approved by the school district’s Board of Directors last September. The document was provided to the Times Observer in response to a Right-To-Know request filed last September. The 48-page negotiations agreement covers the 2008-09 through 2012-13 school terms. The entire agreement is posted and available for download from the Times Observer’s web site: www.timesobserver.com. According to the contract, a first-year teacher with a bachelor’s degree will earn $39,855 for this school term in basic salary. The top salary this year for a teacher with a bachelor’s degree with 18 or more years with the district is $60,120. Those two categories go to $40,740 and $61,005 respectively next yea.
