City agrees to pay for audit

While the members of the Warren Convention Center Authority resigned last year, rendering the Authority inactive, the city isn’t done paying for it....

Incorrect, Trekker. My friends don't live around here. Just trying to educate the public on the real costs of audits. I've worked for agencies in the past that needed them. They are not cheap, but are often required by funding sources or the government. It can be a huge budget item for an organization or company.

I have friends who are accountants. They would tell you that $2,500 is a cheap audit these days. No matter how many transactions, there are regulations and requirements that must be followed to complete the job and they could take tens of hours even for the most simple audit.
