Foul-mouthed Pa. chief could learn fate

September 19, 2013

GILBERTON, Pa. (AP) — A suspended Pennsylvania police chief who posted online videos in which he shot borough-owned automatic weapons while shouting obscenities about liberals and the Second Amendment could soon find out whether he'll lose his job.

Gilberton Chief Mark Kessler will appear at a disciplinary hearing Thursday morning. Borough Council meets Thursday night and could decide Kessler's fate.

Kessler has said he expects to be fired.

Kessler's pro-gun videos have garnered hundreds of thousands of views online. They show him shouting about the Second Amendment and liberals while spraying machine-gun fire.

Kessler acknowledges the videos are inflammatory but says they are designed to draw attention to what he views as the erosion of Second Amendment and other constitutional rights. But this week he promised to stop cursing.
