UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — The occupant of a pickup truck in western Pennsylvania allegedly shot at police and is now in a standoff with state and local authorities.

The Uniontown Herald-Standard ( ) reports that police were pursuing a blue pickup truck near Uniontown at around noon Friday when an occupant opened a window and fired on a police car. That's about 50 miles south of Pittsburgh.

Police say they pursued the truck, which crashed into a home on Gallatin Avenue Extension. Authorities say a man and a woman then went into a nearby home, which is now surrounded by police. The woman surrendered, but the man hasn't.

Nearby schools were put on lockdown, but that's been lifted.
