SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) — A northeastern Pennsylvania woman and her two daughters have pleaded guilty in the death of their 32-year-old son and brother, who had Down syndrome and was severely neglected.

Robert Gensiak of Taylor weighed just 69 pounds and was covered in scabies, a contagious skin infection caused by mites, when he died in March 2013.

The Times-Tribune of Scranton (http://bit.ly/1qjqg88) reports his mother, 60-year-old Susan Gensiak, pleaded guilty Thursday to third-degree murder. She faces up to 40 years in prison.

Her daughter, 35-year-old Joan Gensiak, faces a maximum of 27 years after pleading guilty to a felony negligence count.

A second daughter, 25-year-old Rebekah Gensiak, testified against her mother and sister. She pleaded guilty to misdemeanor negligence and faces up to five years.

They'll be sentenced within 90 days.
