Chautauqua Lake Central School
The Thunderbirds boys’ team finished the season with a 10-0 record following victories over Allegany-Limestone, 96 1/2-44 1/2, and Cattaraugus-Little Valley, 114 1/2-22 1/2.
Cody Gleason was a triple winner for the Thunderbirds. Steve Asel won two events.
In the girls meet, Allegany-Limestone defeated Chautauqua Lake, 92-45. Chautauqua Lake defeated Cattaraugus-Little Valley.
Madison Steward won four events for the Thunderbirds.
Chautauqua Lake defeated Ripley, 17-4.
Kai Anderson had two hits including an RBI single and one double and Jared Hunt had two hits and two RBI. Shane Nusom had two hits for the Thunderbirds.
Mike Gresh had three hits including a double and two RBI for the Eagles.
Dan Courtney was the winning pitcher. Nate McCutcheon was the losing pitcher.
In the Section VI tournament, Frewsburg defeated Chautauqua Lake, 12-7.
Frewsburg led, 12-2, before the Thunderbirds scored five runs in the top of the seventh to make the game interesting.
Keith Smith had a double and a triple and Jared Hunt added a double and three RBI for the Thunderbirds.
Rachel Teets tossed a complete game as Chautauqua Lake defeated Clymer, 9-2.
Teets finished the game with five strikeouts and three walks. Jenna Raynor had a double, two singles and three RBI to lead the Thunderbirds. Katherine Michalak had a double and Andrea Schmitt finished with two singles and one RBI.
Robyn Kibbe was the losing pitcher with four strikeouts and four walks.
In the Section VI tournament, Chautauqua Lake defeated Cattaraugus-Little Valley, 11-4.
Julia Einink had two hits and two RBI while Michalak added two hits and two RBI for the Thunderbirds. Alyssa Blakeslee had a triple and one RBI and Andrea Schmitt had two hits and one RBI.
Teets was the winning pitcher with three strikeouts and three walks.
