Dick and Marian North of Russell will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary this Sunday, Dec 20. They were married, the bride in a white wool dress and the groom in his service uniform, in the rectory of the Holy Redeemer Church, Warren, given special permission, since marriages were then barred during Advent. A few members of each family attended in the snowstorm of 1944.
They headed north to Niagara Falls and honeymooned in Toronto in record-high snow.
The Norths have three daughters, Judy, of Holiday, Fla.; Karen and her husband, David, of Santa Fe, N.M.; and Sue and her husband, Jack, of Warren. They also have two grandchildren, Chase and Addy, both of Warren.
