Sandberg

Elwood and Joline Connor Sandberg of 86 Mill St., Youngsville, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple was married Jan. 7, 1950, by the late Fr. Jacobs in the rectory of St. John's Catholic Church, Tidioute.

A surprise anniversary celebration was held Jan. 9. Present to honor the couple were their children, Trudy Sandberg Holcomb and friend Jack Kysor, and Douglas Sandberg and wife Diana. Susan Sandberg Pollard of Florida was unable to attend. Also in attendance were the couple's grandchildren, Carrie Campbell, Crystal Stein, Eric Gentz and Kyle Gentz. Kellie Gentz of Warren was unable to attend. Grandchildren Laraine and Bradley Pollard of Florida also were unable to attend. Other great-grandchildren include Austin Beaver, Samantha Beaver, Tegan Wightman and Hannah Gentz.

The celebration was held at the couple's home in Youngsville. Their family and friends attending are very grateful for the continued good health and help always readily given by the couple.

Elwood enjoys hunting, fishing and playing cards with friends. Joline enjoys reading and knitting and remains a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Youngsville.

Great-granddaughter Alyssa Ann Gentz assisted with the cutting of the cake.
