Tidioute Community Charter School Student Council will be holding a pizza buffet night at Titusville Pizza Hut on Thursday, December 9 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Girl Scouts decorate trees
Tidioute Junior and Cadette Girl Scouts decorated the Christmas Tree at the Sr. Center in Tidioute once again this year. Gathered around the tree are some of the Girl Scouts. PSCFT Bingo
Once again the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament Committee members will be holding Bingo at Buccardo's Restaurant on Sunday, December 12.
Doors open at 3 p.m. and the games begin at 4 p.m.

Christmas program
Tidioute First United Methodist Church Choir and members of the Sunday School classes will present a Southern Gospel Christmas Musical on Sunday, December 12 at 4 p.m. at the Methodist Church.
This is open to the public and all are welcome.
There will be a tureen dinner following the program. Meat, potatoes, rolls and beverage will be provided.
Those attending the dinner are asked to bring a tureen to share.
Lighting contest
The Holiday Lighting Committee has announced that there will be lighting contest this year and the judging will be on Tuesday, December 14 between the hours of 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
There will be prizes for first, second and third place.
Winners will be announced and published the next week.
Darling
addresses seniors
Chris Darling of Darling's Tidioute Pharmacy and Crone's Drugstore will be at the Tidioute Senior Center on Tuesday, December 14 at 10 a.m. till 12 noon.
Also, Darling will be at the Tidioute Towers at 2 p.m. the same day to discuss the new pharmacy in Tidioute and let the residents know what is available at the pharmacy and to assist those who wish to switch to Darling's Tidioute Pharmacy.
97th birthday
Friends and family members of Hazel Ord met at the Tidioute Senior Center on Thursday, Dec. 2, for a surprise birthday celebration for her 97th birthday.
Hazel attends activities at the senior center every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and enjoys playing cards with her many friends.
Her daughter-Barb Downey and other family members-Linda Graves, Lori McLaughlin and Connie Cotterman were there to help her celebrate.
VFW Auxiliary
breakfast
Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 8803 will conduct their annual Christmas breakfast meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 9:30 a.m. at the Tippy Canoe.
There will be a $10 gift exchange for those wishing to participate.
Sign up sheet is behind the bar at the post home. A charge of $5 is due upon signing up and the deadline for sign up is Thursday, Dec. 9.
Ladies Guild
Christmas dinner
St. John Ladies Guild will hold its Christmas Dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at Forest Hills at 6 p.m.
Your choices of meat are stuffed chicken breast or stuffed pork chops with all the trimmings such as potatoes, veggie.
A sign up sheet is located at ST Anthony's and at ST John's.

basket raffle
Tidioute Community Charter School is holding a Christmas basket raffle with the cost of tickets at $2 each or three tickets for $5.
Drawing will be on Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Christmas Concert which begins at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
The basket can be seen at Buccardo's Restaurant or at Polly's ShurSave Market; the basket will be rotated between the two merchants.
Winner need not be present to win.
Christmas concert
Students at Tidioute Community Charter School will be presenting their Christmas Concert on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 6:30 p.m.
This concert is open to the public. Friends, family and neighbors are encouraged to attend and show your support.
Girl Scouts busy
Members of the Tidioute Girl Scouts have been busy decorating Christmas Trees for the Seniors of our community.
Girls in the Tidioute Unit decorated a tree at the Tidioute Senior Center and one at the Tidioute Towers.
When they were at the Tidioute Towers they served the residents cookies and punch after the decorating was finished and hosted a game of Bingo with the residents. Centerpiece prizes were made by the Girl Scouts and given away to the residents.
Girl Scouts who participated were Tidioute Cadets and Junior Girl Scouts that included Lakin Krouse, Madison Hittie (a guest), Sierra Hall, Amber Borland, Morgan Silvis, Morgan Hittie, Samantha Veasey, Desiree McChesney, Lindsey Crane, and Kiley Harmon.
Christmas caroling
VFW Ladies Auxiliary members of VFW Post 8803 invite one and all to come join them in singing Christmas Carols on Thursday, December 16.
They will meet at the post home on Main St at 6 p.m.
Travel up and down the streets of Tidioute once again with their reliable driver "Dave", serenading our neighbors with Silent Night and Jingle Bells.
They are asking that carolers under the age of 10 be accompanied by an adult.
Once the caroling is done everyone will meet back at the VFW Post home by 8 p.m. for cookies and hot chocolate.

District 19 winners
Fran and Hank Stoneburg, VFW District 19 Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen, chairpersons have announced the winners of the Voice of Democracy scholarship essay contest and the Patriot's Pen contest.
Ben Reed, a senior at Tidioute Community Charter School was the Voice of Democracy essay winner and Rachael Karnes of Franklin was the Patriot's Pen essay winner.
Ben will go on to department or State for judging in January of 2011.
Both Fran and Hank would like to thank the judges, the supporting teachers and especially all the students who entered essays in the post judging.
Cookie Walk
St. John's Ladies Guild will hold a Cookie Walk on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. and again following the 4:30 p.m. mass.
Anyone wanting to participate and bake cookies should contact Maggie Oliver at 463-7690.
This is open to the public and all are welcome to come and make purchases of homemade cookies for the Holiday Season.
Kids Quest winners
Elizabeth Nicholson, librarian at Tidioute Public Library would like to congratulate our Kids Quest winners, Blake Sabella in October and Amber Borland for November.
She would also like to inform the public of the Christmas Giving Tree.
Stop by the library and donate the money for a book or DVD off of their Wish List and hang a candy cane on the tree.
Donations would be greatly appreciated at this time.
Fire Department Bingo
Bingo coordinator and the workers would like to inform the bingo players that due to a misunderstanding beyond their control the points on the Jackpot were changed.
However, the Jackpot will be 1000 points at 56 numbers for Wednesday, Dec. 8, bingo.
Tidioute Bingo is at the Tidioute Firehall on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. for early bird and regular bingo starts at 7 p.m.
Cards for servicemen
A special request from the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 8803.
They are asking people to send Christmas Cards to the injured servicemen.
