Aggravated assault.

Warren-based state police responded to reports of assault at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at a roadway near 210 Dunham Hills Rd. According to police, Mark D. Grosch, 53, Clarendon, and John I. Hummel, 64, Clarendon, became engaged in a verbal disagreement. Police said Grosch then became upset and struck Hummel in the head/ face area several times with a wooden club. As a result of the assault, the victim received serious bodily injuries requiring medical attention, police said. Grosch was placed under arrest for aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment and taken into custody. He was arraigned in front of District Justice Laura Bauer and committed to Warren County Jail on $100,000 bail.
