Freshmen football
The Warren Dragons' freshmen football team concluded its season with a 34-8 victory over Oil City Thursday. The rain and snow did little to slow the Dragons' offense and Warren scored on its first possession with an eight-yard strike from D.J. Fehlman to Bailey Pratt. Fehlman ran into the end zone for the two-point conversion.
On Warren's next drive, Fehlman scored the touchdown on a six-yard run to make it 14-0. The final score of the first half saw Fehlman and Pratt connect again for a 50-yard score. Fehlman's pass to Tanner Stanz converted the two-point try and put the Dragons up 22-8 at half.
In the second half, Warren went to work on running the ball and the clock down. Kyle Kulka, Collin DeLattre and Fehlman were all able to chew up tough yards with Eric Cecco, Scott Miller, Michael Johnson and Quincy Nolan leading the way up front. Fehlman finished two long second half drives with short touchdown passes to Sam Lindquist.
Defensively, the Dragons were led by the solid play of Mitch Labesky, Jason Peterson, Zach Hart and Alex Streich. Warren finished the season with a 6-1 record and outscored its opposition, 221-64.
