Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a motor vehicle accident at 7:35 a.m. Saturday on Rt. 6 just east of Donkey Ln. Police said Stephen R. Beattie, 17, Pittsfield, was operating his '96 Chevy S-10 traveling east on Rt. 6 when he lost control on the snow and ice-covered roadway. The loss of control caused the Chevy to travel 62 feet off the north berm striking a ditch. After impact the vehicle rolled onto its left side coming to final rest facing east, police said. According to police, Beattie suffered minor injury and was charged with driving a vehicle at unsafe speeds.
