Barton T. Abplanalp, 32 of 11480 Turnpike Rd., Corry and formerly of Ir-vine, Pa., died unexpect-edly Wednesday April 11, 2012 at St. Vincent's Hos-pital in Erie.
He was born July 28, 1979 in Corry to Randy and Brenda (Wilkinson) Abplanalp, who survive him, of Irvine. He was a 1997 graduate of Youngs-ville High School, was em-ployed at Clear Lake Lumber in Spartansburg as a lumber grader, and also at Peek n Peek as a ski in-structor. Bart attended the National Sports Academy in Lake Placid, NY, was a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America, the National Hardwood Lumber Assoc., was a coach and racer under the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Associa-tion, and he enjoyed fish-ing, skiing and golfing.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his companion Sabrina May and their ten month old son Ethan Abplanalp, both of Corry, a sister Miranda Abplanalp of Erie, a brother Braydon Ab-planalp of Irvine, his pater-nal grandparents Jack and Florence Abplanalp of Youngsville, his maternal grandmother June Wilkin-son and maternal great- grandmother Sophie DeWitt, both of Corry, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Fred Wilkinson and a maternal step grand-father Philip Pokosh.
Friends will be received at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St. in Youngsville on Saturday, from noon till 1:00pm, at which time a memorial service will take place with the Pastor Dennis Ledebur, pastor of the Irvine Presbyterian Church officiating.
