Dinner out

Dinner out with Allegheny Community Center this month will be on Tuesday, April 24, at Gigi's Route 6 Diner outside of Corry. The center's bus will depart from CRI's parking lot on East Pennsylvania Ave. at 4 p.m. Cost of the bus ride is $3 with the meal on your own. Call for reservations at 723-3237

Off to Barcelona

On Thursday, April 26, Allegheny Community Center will travel to Barcelona to visit a familiar tourist stop. Our friend Gail from the Sugar Shack will provide samples of syrups and jellies. Further up the Erie lakeshore, the Sugar Hill Golf course will welcome the group for lunch. Wine sampling will start out the afternoon at Nobles Winery. If you are still hungry you won't want to miss ice cream in Ripley at Medder's. Call 723-3237 to be a part of this adventure. Cost is $15; lunch is on your own. Select menu choice when signing up. Departing from CRI's parking lot at 9 a.m.

Off to casino

Allegheny Community Center will go to Presque Isle Downs Erie Casino on Thursday, May 17, leaving CRI parking lot (East Pennsylvania Ave.) at 3 p.m. Cost is $10 with coin and food vouchers given Live horse racing has begun. Come and cheer on your favorite jockey. Call 723-3237 for reservations

Irvine Church

restoration progresses

The restoration project at Irvine Presbyterian Church is progressing well, according to member Joanne Oviatt. The side walls have been repaired by removing stones and beams at the top of the walls, straightening, strengthening and reassembling them to their original condition. New problems were discovered at the front and back corners, but they are minor in comparison to the original problems. The new trusses are scheduled to arrive next week, and the roof will be removed to install them.

Class to lunch

Youngsville High School Class of 1964 will have lunch at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Richard's Restaurant, Youngsville.

Host speaker

The pastor committee of Good News Church, 215 Conewango Ave., Warren, will present to the congregation the Rev. James D. Witherington at the 11 a.m. service on Sunday, April 22. Originally from Nashville, Tenn., Witherington currently resides in Lakewood, N.Y.. There will be no children's class this week. The public is invited.

Coffeehouse tonight

Scott Supulski will teach at tonight's coffeehouse at 7 p.m. at House of Worship Biker Church, Conewango Ave.
