It is unfortunate that the Farmington Supervisors have been put in the dilemma that they are faced with. Although I believe a County Zoning Ordinance is better then individual township ordinances, the elected township supervisors are the people who are entrusted to make the decisions for their constituency, and if they need a zoning ordinance of any type.
I agree with Jeff Zariczny's statement " This isn't going away, this is going to blow up down the road ". His statement is very similar to one I made at the planning commission's meeting at the beginning of this fiasco. I personally see no other course for the Farmington Supervisors to follow, other then the one they chose, to help their constituency. It's a shame that this fiasco all started over a neighbor holding prejudice against another.
Again in January, I warned that the County should not be getting involved in a neighborhood dispute, and the Zoning Office should back off. The warning was ignored, and here we are, the FIRST BLOW UP.
Also, the issues concerning the Charter School and the Lander School deed restrictions haven't anything to do with Farmington's desire to get out of zoning.
