Charles L. Silvis, 78, of 966 JoJo Road, passed away Saturday (July 7, 2012) at his residence after a brief illness.
Born October 24, 1933, in Brookville, he was a son of the late Merle and Twila Weirich Silvis. On August 7, 1954, in Sigel, he married Linda Aaron who survives.
Chuck was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church and was a 4th De-gree member of the Carl L. Lippert Knights of Columbus Council #715. He also, was a member of the Kane V.F.D.

Before retirement, he had been employed as a woods foreman for Texas Gulf. After retirement, he worked for Kane Liquid Fu-els and Kinzua Beverage.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Linda Silvis, are two sons, Dave (Bonnie O'Donnell) Silvis and Doug Silvis, both of Kane; two daughters, Patricia Prillman of Collinsville, Va. and Libby (Eric) McNabb of Buffalo, NY; two grandsons, Justin Silvis and Scott Prillman; a granddaughter, Emily Silvis; two great-grand daughters, twins Anna and Abigail Shrubb; and two sisters, Beulah McAfoose of Tidioute and Vivian Wolfgang of Kane.
He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by an infant son, Paul Silvis; a granddaughter, Erin Silvis; two brothers, Cecil Silvis and Willis "Bud" Silvis; a sister, Martha Songer; and two infant sisters, Margaret and Florence Silvis.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4:00 and 7-9:00 p.m. at the Cum-mings Funeral Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Callistus Church with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at St. Dominic Cemetery in Sigel.
