Warren
Arrest. On July 19, officers of the Warren County Adult Probation Department, with assistance from the Warren County Sheriff's Department and Warren-based state police, arrested Michael T. Frazier, 23, Warren on charges of violation of parole. Wen probation officers knocked at Frazier's hotel room, Frazier failed to answer the door promptly. When officers gained entry, drugs and paraphernalia were found in Frazier's possession. Frazier, who was originally placed on parole on the charge of receiving stolen property, was arrested on a supervisor's warrant and committed to the Warren County Jail pending further court action.
Conewango Twp.
Duck shot. Conewango Township Police reported that between July 19 at 4 p.m. and July 20 at 6 a.m. someone shot and killed a white domestic duck on the property of the Warren County Memorial Park in Starbrick. Anyone with information is asked to contact Conewango Township Police.
Theft. Conewango Township Police reported that on July 18, Lena Ellsworth, Warren, accidentally left her purse in a cart at Aldi's in North Warren at approximately 5 p.m. After realizing that her purse was left behind, she returned to find that the purse had been taken. Her credit card was used at Kwik Fill at 5:10 p.m. and McDonalds at 5:21 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call the Conewango Township Police.
Theft. Conewango Township Police reported that on Wednesday, July 18, police were dispatched to Walmart for a reported retail theft in progress. Upon arrival, subjects were leaving the store in a known vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and Cage Arthurs, 18, and Robert Storms, 18, both of Jamestown, N.Y., were found to have merchandise that was stolen from Walmart and Kmart totaling approximately $560.00. Both subjects were taken into custody and transported to District Justice Gregory's office and arraigned on first degree misdemeanor charges of retail theft. Both subjects were released on their own recognizance. Warren-based state police assisted at the scene.
Theft. Conewango Township Police reported that on July 13 at approximately 9:10 p.m., Nicholas Mohr, 19, and Christopher Zimmerman, 20, both of Warren, were stopped by Walmart Loss Prevention personnel for consealing $52.83 worth of magic cards. Mohr had the magic cards concealed on his person. Non-traffic citations for retail theft have been filed with District Justice Laura Bauer's office.
Theft. Conewango Township Police reported that on July 13 at approximately 5 p.m., Robbie Russ, last known address Pittsfield, was confronted by Walmart Loss Prevention personnel for attempting to steal $61.38 worth of merchandise. Russ gave the package to loss prevention and fled on foot. Police were able to identify Russ through surveillance footage. A non-traffic retail theft citation has bene filed with District Justice Laura Bauer's office.
Elk Twp.
Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one vehicle crash on July 19 at 4 p.m. On Scandia Road approximately 20 feet north of the Webb's Ferry boat launch entrance. A 2001 Dodge Dakota driven by Gary Murphy, New Castle, was traveling south on Scandia Road, towing a large boat. On a gradual right curve, the vehicle lost traction on the wet roadway, causing Murphy to lose control of the vehicle, dropping off the right shoulder prior to entering the woodline and striking a group of small trees. As the vehicle came to rest, the trailer dislodged from the hitch, causing the trailer tongue to travel under the rear of the vehicle, subsequently breaking the tether to the boat. The boat came off the trailer and came to rest in the southbound lane of Scandia Road. The vehicle, trailer and boat all sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene by both Koebley's Towing and Rarey's Towing. Murphy received a moderate lower torso injury and was transported from the scene to Warren General Hospital by Elk Twp. EMS. An 11 year old male in the vehicle was not injured. A charge of roadways laned for traffic will be filed against Murphy with District Justice Laura Bauer.
Pittsfield Twp.
Burglary. Warren-based state police reported that someone entered a storage shed belonging to Richard Locke, North East, between July 11 and July 18. The suspect(s) walked around the interior of the shed prior to fleeing the scene in an unknown direction. The victim reports that nothing appears to be missing at the time. Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation is asked to contact the state police or the Warren County Crime Stoppers.
