Our spaghetti dinner was a huge success thanks to the many volunteers who helped. Thanks to all who came and supported this fund raiser.

AARP driver safety course will be here at the center on July 25-26 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. This class is offered at a discount for all current and retired people in the education field for only $5, all others will pay $14 or if a member of AARP the cost is $12. Classes are limited to 25 people so call 968-5667 for reservations. A free class for veterans and spouses will be held on Nov. 14-15.

The second picnic and birthday party will be at the center on July 26. We will celebrate with cake and a game of bingo after lunch.

The annual boat ride will be July 24, and we are off to Cleveland aboard Goodtime for a lunch cruise of Lake Erie. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is our next stop to enjoy music of our era. The cost is $95 with a pick up in Warren and Sheffield.

The next extended trip will be a nine-day, eight-night cruise aboard Enchantment of the Seas from September 20-28. We will be leaving from Baltimore with the first stop in Portland, on to Bar Harbor, Me., Bay of Fundy and on to Nova Scotia. Prices from $999 and deadline for sign up is June 5.

Southern Caribbean cruise scheduled for Jan. 20 Feb. 1, 2013. Trip starts from NY harbor then to San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maartin, St. Lucia, Barbados and St. Kitts. Passport required.

There are still plenty of great summer activities to enjoy. This week, how about a picnic at Chapman Dam...or a day of shopping in Erie...or a day at the Salamanca Casino...or a delicious dinner with friends at ACC. Just call 723-3237.

All non-casino trips leave from the CRI parking lot located on Pennsylvania Avenue West, just over the railroad tracks on the left (along the river) unless otherwise instructed to park elsewhere. Salamanca Casino trips depart from the Big Lots parking lot at the Warren Mall, as always. Not sure, just call 723-3237!

ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Mon. & Wed. ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays. Hot lunches are available Mondays-Fridays at noon. You can call your reservation to 723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.

Lunches

The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers July 23-27: goulash Monday, chef salad Tuesday, pork chops Wednesday, cheese burger Thursday and chef surprise Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations.
