Arrest. On Jan. 17, Officers of the Warren County Adult Probation Department arrested Jacob Lindstrom, 22, of Warren, on charges of violation of parole. Lindstrom, who was orginally placed on parole on a charge of Criminal Mischief, was arrested on a Supervisor's Warrant. He was committed to the Warren County Jail pending futher court action.
Pine Grove Twp.
Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Akley Road, just north of Howard Road, on Feb. 4 at 5:15 p.m. According to police, a 2005 Saturn L300 operated by Erin Conti, 26, of Frewsburg, N.,Y., struck slush on the road and slid off the roadway striking a speed limit sign, an embankment, brush, and small trees. Police said Conti was wearing her seatbelt and denied any injuries. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
Burglary. Warren-based state police were called to a home on Kane Road in Garland for a report of a burglary on Jan. 28 at 3:54 a.m.. Police said Gerald Hultberg entered the property owned by Robert Scott and took several items belonging to Scott. Police said Hultberg was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, and theft.
Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident on Rt. 426 on Feb. 2 at 9:30 p.m. According to police, Robert Slike, 48, Corry, lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered roadway, crossed both lanes, left the west side of the roadway, drove over a ravine, and struck a tree. Police said Slike, who was not injured, was cited for driving at safe speed.
Crash. Warren-based state police reported that a crash occurred at 10:55 p.m. on Feb. 2 in the parking lot of the Allegheny Valley Elementary School, when an unknown driver was doing donuts in the parking lot. Police said when he exited the parking lot, his vehicle slid on the snow-covered road and into a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jay Christensen, 53, Clardendon, and then fled the scene. The vehicle is described as a smaller white car with a black rear bumper, and has been lowered and possibly has an exhaust system. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of this vehicle is asked to contact the state police.
Identity theft. Sandra Jamieson, Tidioute, told Tidioute Borough Police that someone used her Northwest bank card number on Feb. 5 to attempt a $770 purchase at Wal-Mart to have shipped to Texas. Police said Wal-Mart's online fraud department contacted Jamieson and no products were shipped.
DUI Crash. Corry-based state police responded to a crash on Rt. 6 between Sears Hill Rd. and Swamp Rd. on Feb. 7 at 1:14 a.m. According to police, the incident occurred as a known female, 26 of Spring Creek, was traveling eastbound and failed to negotiate a right curve, losing control of the 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo she was driving. The vehicle then struck a telephone pole, knocking powerlines onto the roadway.
The vehicle then traveled down an embankment and came to rest on its roof in a large swamp. The driver flagged down a motorist on Rt. 6 and proceeded to her residence in Pittsfield Township. During an interview with the driver, it was determined she was under the influence of a controlled substance. She was placed under arrest and transported to Corry Memorial Hospital for a blood draw. Charges are pending via District Court 37-4-01 upon recieving chemical testing results.
DUI. On Feb. 6, Warren-based state police stopped Brian Scharrer, 23 of Youngsville, for driving while under suspension DUI. He was determined to be a Habitual Offender and was charged in MDJ 37-2-01.
