Registration is now open at the Imaginative Preschool of the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church for the 2013-2014 school year. The preschool has been in operation for more than 20 years and is a way to start off any child's education.
Registration is on a first come- first served basis. Students presently enrolled in the three-year-old class are given first choice as to which four-year-old class they would like to attend. There is a one-time registration fee of $10 and a one-time material fee which is $15 for four-year-olds and $10 for three-year-olds. Tuition costs for the 2013-14 school year is $85 for the four-year-old classes and $65 for the three-year-old classes. Scholarships are available for the residents of Warren County to help offset the cost of tuition.
The class schedules for 2013-14 are: the first four-year-olds class will meet Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 12:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.; the second four-year-old class will meet Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 to11:30 a.m. and Wednesday from 12:15 to 3:15 p.m. The three-year-old class will meet Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.

District Chorus Festival
The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association is holding the annual District Choris Festival Feb. 6-9 at Collegiate Academy in Erie. This year's event is under the direction of Dr. Michael Schwartzkopf, professor emeritus of music from Indiana University, Indiana.
Eisenhower Chorus students selected to participate are Ricky Zortman, Mollie Marsh, Amanda Morgan, Sharon Harrington and Andrew Childs. Public concerts are scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association will be holding their District Jazz Band Festival on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Fort LeBoeuf High Schoolin Waterford. Jimmy Palmer, a junior at Eisenhower High School, was selected to be a part of the event.
The Warren County School District will not be having classes for employees or students on Monday, Feb. 18.
Wednesday, Feb. 20 will be the day to register for 2013-14 kindergarten at Sugar Grove Elementary School.
Registration times are from 8:30 to 10:45 a.m. or 1 to 2:30 p.m. Bring to the school office the following items: student's birth certificate, immunization records, proof of residency by means of a utility bill, credit card bill, deed, mortgage, lease agreement, or driver's license. Each student being registered will have the opportunity to meet the kindergarten teachers and also complete a vision screening.
Registration packets can be obtained at the school office or at the Warren County School District Administration offices. Schools ask that the registration packet be completed prior to arrival on registration day. Everyone should allow at least one hour for the registration process. For those in the area attending school in Russell, the Russell Elementary School kindergarten registration will be held on Feb. 12 from 9 to11 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Eisenhower Knight-Time Players will present their third annual Dinner Theater on Feb. 15 and 16 in the Eisenhower gymnasium. The show, "Family Album," by Rod Frankel, is a series of monologues, duets, and skits about modern family life, including children fighting over a remote, and a child trying to make sense of a divorce. There will also be stand-up comedy and a selection of music.
The choices for the dinner on Friday night, Feb. 15 are bacon-wrapped filet or seafood (scallops and shrimp) alfredo. The dinner choices for Saturday night, Feb. 16 are bacon-wrapped filet or chicken cordon bleu. All dinners include tossed salad, dinner rolls, entree, potatoes, vegetable, dessert and beverages. Ticket prices are $15 and include both the dinner and all the show entertainment.

World Day of Prayer
Friday, March 1 will be the Community World Day of Prayer Service. Our churches come together on this day and join in prayer. The theme this year is "I was a stranger and you welcomed me." This year the service will be held at the Chandlers Valley United Methodist Church beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Special speakers are John and Glenna Peterson from Chandlers Valley talking about their recent mission trip to Tanzania. Special music will be provided by John Landin from the Mission Covenant Church. Other portions of the service will be provided by the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church, the First Presbyterian Church of Sugar Grove, the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, and the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church.
The book club of the Sugar Grove Free Library will meet on Monday, Feb. 25. The book selection for this month is "Christmas with Tucker" by Greg Kincaid. It looks like a sweetheart of a story and one that is perfect for Valentine's month. Call the Sugar Grove library to get a copy of this month's selection and get reading.

The Chandlers Valley Community Center will be holding an auction on Feb. 16. The auction will consist of food items, spring items, produce items. Refreshments will be provided for purchase.
The Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry distribution will be held in Sugar Grove at the Free Methodist Church on Saturday, March 2. Doors will open at 8 a.m.
