Retail theft. Warren-based state police responded to Wal-Mart in North Warren on Feb. 8 for a reported retail theft that occurred between 8 and 8:30 p.m. According to police, two male juveniles, both age 15, were stopped by Wal-Mart security after not paying for several CDs. Police said charges were filed through District Justice Laura Bauer's office. The juveniles were released to their parents.
Accident. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Market Street at 5:15 p.m. Feb. 8. According to police, a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt operated by Curtis VanOrd, 19, Russell, was southbound on Market Street when VanOrd lost control. The vehicle crossed the center lane, traveled across the northbound lane, went down an embankment and over a large tree stump which caused undercarriage damage, disabling the vehicle. Police said VanOrd was cited for driving on right side of roadway. Police said VanOrd was not injured.
Aggravated assault. Warren-based state police responded to Warren State Hospital for a reported incident at 6:40 p.m. Feb. 5. According to police, Danielle Coudriet, 28, a patient at Warren State Hospital, attacked Georgianna Reges, DeYoung, punching her and knocking her to the ground. Police said Coudriet then struck Reges in the ribs with her knee, fracturing two ribs. Police said Coudriet was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. She was arraigned before District Justice Laura Bauer and remanded to Warren County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
DUI. Conewango Township police said Michael Bero, 53, Warren, was charged with DUI general impairment, DUI highest rate and several summary traffic offenses following a traffic stop at 10:30 p.m. Feb. 8 on Follett Run Road, west of Weiler Road. Police said they received a complaint from a motorist, then stopped Bero's vehicle. Police said he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Police said a criminal complaint was filed with District Justice Laura Bauer's office.
Accident. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Route 6, approximately a tenth of a mile east of Six Mile Road, at 4:45 p.m. Feb. 8. According to police, Michael Petruney, 67, Kane, was eastbound on Route 6 in a 2011 Dodge Dakota when he lost control on the slippery roadway after rounding a right-hand curve. The vehicle traveled off the eastbound berm and down an embankment and struck a tree head-on. Petruney and his passenger, Judith Petruney, 61, Kane, were transported to Kane Community Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Police said Petruney was charged with driving vehicle at safe speed. Police were assisted at the scene by Clarendon volunteer firefighters.
Accident. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Route 6, just west of Mead Avenue, at 9:22 p.m. Feb. 2. According to police, Lucas Avenali, 18, Kane was eastbound on Route 6 when he lost control of his 2004 Ford F-150 on the icy roadway. Police said the vehicle began to slide in the eastbound lane, crossed over to the westbound lane, slid along the berm and then went into a ditch, rolling onto the passenger side. Avenali and three passengers Joseph Avenali, 53; Linda Carlson, 47; and Katherine Avenali, 15, all of Kane, were not injured. Police said Avenali was charged with roadways laned for traffic. Police were assisted at the scene by Clarendon volunteer firefighters.

Accident. Warren-based state police responded to an accident on Route 62, just south of Akeley Road, at 8:41 a.m. Feb. 1. According to police. Holly Schott, 19, Warren, was northbound on Route 62 when she lost control of her 2008 Saturn on the slush-covered roadway. Police said Schott's vehicle slid in the northbound lane, then went off the road into the parking lot of a diner, colliding with a sign in front of the diner. Police said the vehicle then struck a parked trailer, and then hit a pole attached to an overhang on a small building, shattering the pole, and then hit a parked vehicle that was being stored under the overhang. Police said Schott was transported to Warren General Hospital for treatment. Police said she was charged with driving vehicle at safe speed. Police were assisted at the scene by Russell volunteer firefighters.
Simple assault. Warren-based state police said they are investigating a simple assault that occurred on Sunday along Route 27 in Garland. According to police, someone struck a known female in the face with an unknown object and fled the scene. Criminal mischief. Daniel Peyton, Garland, reported to Warren-based state police that the rear window of his truck was smashed by unknown means between Feb. 6 and 8 while it was parked on Deport Street in Garland. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.
Vehicle sought. Warren-based state police are seeking an dark-colored, unknown model and year Dodge vehicle involved in an incident in front of Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 7. According to police, the Dodge was eastbound on Route 6 when it struck the driver's side mirror on a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche that was legally parked. Police said the driver of the unknown vehicle faces charges of roadways laned. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police.
