Accident. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Mead Run Road, approximately four-tenths of a mile north of Route 6, at 3:25 p.m. Feb. 23. According to police, Christopher McMillen, 21, Youngsville, was southbound on Mead Run Road in a 2001 Ford Explorer and was negotiating a sharp right curve when he veered to the right for oncoming traffic. Police said McMillen lost control on the slushy conditions and the vehicle began to yaw counter-clockwise before striking the ditch/embankment along the left shoulder. Police said the vehicle became airborne and landed on the passenger side roof before coming to rest on its roof. Police said McMillen sustained a minor laceration to his right hand, but refused medical treatment. Police said McMillen was cited for driving vehicle at safe speed.
Harassment. Warren-based state police responded to Warren Area Elementary Center for a reported harassment incident at 10:45 a.m. Feb. 21. According to police, a 12-year-old male used his hand to shove an eight-year-old male in the head, causing the victim to strike his head against a wall. Police said charges were filed against the 12-year-old at District Justice Laura Bauer's office.
Theft. Warren-based state police said Brandi Rae Cooper, 21, Warren, has been charged with one count of theft by unlawful taking and one count of theft by receiving stolen property following the investigation of an incident that occurred on Nov. 27, 2012 at Jennifer Lee Babic's residence on Garden Lane. According to police, Cooper took two rings, valued at $1,050, from Babic's home while she was a guest there. Police said charges were filed at District Justice Laura Bauer's office.
Theft. Sean Ellsworth, 48, Warren, reported to Warren-based state police that someone entered his vehicles, which were parked in the Leslie Blvd. area, between 12:01 a.m. Feb. 21 and midnight Feb. 22 and took a Garmin GPS, Sirius Satellite radio dock and a wallet. Total value of the stolen items in $385, according to police. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.
Sugar Grove Twp.
Theft. Warren-based state police said an unidentified 59-year-old Sugar Grove man reported that someone took a radiator and two Marine Deep Cycle 12-volt batteries from a 1964 Dodge Power Wagon drilling rig located in a wooded area on Jones Hill Road between Feb. 1 and 22. Police said total value of the items is $540. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.
