There will be a parents meeting from 8:15 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the WAHS gymnasium for all girls planning to play basketball next winter at Warren Area High School.

Several youth bowlers at Youngsville’s Valley Bowling Center qualified at the league level for United States Bowling Congress (USBC) state competition scheduled for this weekend in Harrisburg. The Jamestown Area Oldtimers split a doubleheader this weekend with the 2012 50+ American League champs, the Chester (W.V.) Oldtimers.
Ron Thomas struck out 12 over seven innings in a 15-9 Jamestown win in Game 1, before a Game 2 lopsided loss. The Jamestown Oldtimers are playing the Jamestown Fire Department at 6 p.m. Thursday, and hosting Salem AmVets there at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

The team of Steve Stoeltzing and Greg Certo finished first with 44 points in the Cable Hollow 2-Man Scramble League. Roger VanEvery and Greg Kolstee had 41 points, and the teams of Ryan Lemon and Matt DeLong and Lou Rivett and Joe Lent tied for third at 40.5 points. DeLong had low gross over nine holes with 36, and Mike Ponsoll and Joe Tutaro low net each at 31.
The team of Colby Clark and Bill Kulinski were the top team with 13.5 points in the Cable Hollow Fitch Disposal Scramble League. Kevin Conlan and Joe Treadway were second at 13 points, and the teams of Dave Bortz and Rick Nasman and Jim Wagner and Jack Haser tied for third at 11.5 points each. Mark Kulka and Mark Butina shot the low gross round of 34, and Wagner and Haser the low net round of 32.
