The First United Methodist Church Creative Preschool at 200 Market St., Warren, has opened registration for the 2013-2014 school year. Preschool classes are in session Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 to 11:15 a.m. and follow the school district calendar. The 3-4-year-old class emphasizes socialization and group interaction skills. The children are exposed to early readiness and motor coordination skills. Art, music, physical fitness, and fun round out the program.
In the Pre-K class, a greater emphasis is placed on readiness in reading, math awareness and socialization in a group setting. The math and reading curriculum is the same as the Warren County School District, which makes the transition from preschool to kindergarten easier. Fine and gross motor skills are practiced with a mixture of games, music, and free play. Cooking, art, computer time and science experiments are all part of our curriculum. Here the Pre-K students are working on a letter matching game.
For more information regarding registration contact Jane Crouch (723-7224) or Patti Moore (726-1526) or the First United Methodist Church (723-4930). The school participates in the E.O.C. scholarship program, and all families are encouraged to apply.
