Urban Bires and Bill Wolfe tied for the low gross in Monday's Blueberry Senior Golf League with a 39, coming in just ahead of the 40 shot by Bill Wilson and Pat Hultquist. Wilson and Randy Grant shot a 32 for the low net, while Larry Anderson and Bob Weiland netted 33's on the day. The August 5 team scores are as follows:

The Curtis Contracting Catfish took first place in the 2013 Friday Night Co-ed End of Season Tournament last weekend, going undefeated with a record of 4-0. Ladies club champion
Sonia Probst recently earned the title of Cable Hollow Golf Course Ladies Club Champion. Probst had a two-day score of 182 this past weekend.
Diana Peck's 44 was good for low gross and her 29 was the low net in last week's Cable Hollow Golf Course Wednesday Evening Ladies League. Bonnie Thorpe had the second low gross of 46, and Terry Borger the second low net of 32. Individuals who shot rounds under 56 are as follows:

Cross country meeting

Out of area
Former Eisenhower High School and Division III Allegheny College football player Matt Deivert had a punt return for touchdown, along with an interception, this past weekend for the Pittsburgh Pride of the semi-pro Heartland Football League. The Pride defeated the Oil City Rampage, 53-0, in the season finale. Deivert, was recently featured in a Times Observer article about chasing his dream of playing professional football.
Over 30 game
Joe Hennessey had three hits and Rick Wagner, Rob Stewart and Troy Weissinger two hits each in Kwik Fill's 13-3 Over 30 Modified Softball League win last week over Freddie's. Weissinger had a three-run home run in the six-inning win for 9-2 and B Division-leading Kwik Fill.
