A preliminary hearing was held in central court Wednesday morning for Nathan Dean Gregory Rounds before District Justice Laura Bauer .
Rounds, formerly of Tidioute and now of Warren, was charged with one count of involuntary deviate intercourse with a child, and one count each of statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault with a complainant less than 13 years old and indecent exposure.
The female victim testified at length about the abuse which began when she was about six years old, and occurred "no more than ten or eleven times, but more than five times," until she was about eleven.
Emotional at times, the victim had to stop while she regained her composure. She described the sexual attacks and quietly answered questions from District Attorney Ross McKeirnan and Public Defender John Parroccini.
She said she didn't understand what was happening when she was very young, and that she was afraid to tell anyone about it until sometime last year.
At that point, she was seeing a therapist, and spoke to a Children and Youth representative, the state police, and McKeirnan, according to her testimony.
Identical charges against Rounds involving a male victim were dropped at McKeirnan's request.
After the prosecution rested its case, Bauer bound Rounds over to court.
