Eisenhower held Seneca scoreless in Thursday afternoon's Region 3 match at Eisenhower High School, but the Knights didn't find the net either, as the two teams battled to a 0-0 tie after two overtime periods.
Ike outshot the visitors, 17-10, and had a few scoring opportunities that nearly ended the game.
"We played pretty well the whole game," said Eisenhower coach Matt Decker. "We put the pressure on them and got a lot of opportunities, we just couldn't finish. It was back-and-forth, but we created better chances than they did. They didn't have many opportunities until the overtime period."
Casey Vincent and Alex Johnson combined efforts in goal for the Knights. Vincent played net in the first half before moving to the field, and Johnson took over for the second half and overtime, racking up seven saves.
"I guess it was our first shutout of the year," said Decker. "Our defense held strong."
Eisenhower was shut out in the junior varsity game, 3-0. Levi Kelly and Dominic Giannini split time in goal for Ike.
The Knights are now 3-3-1 overall and 1-2-1 in Region 3. They will travel to North East on Monday for a region match against the Grapepickers.
