James H. Murphy, 85, of Dodge Rd., died, Monday (Dec. 30, 2013) at Rolling Fields Nursing Home, Conneautville, Pa.
He was born September 22, 1928 in Nicktown, Pa., the son of Paul and Dorothy Rager Murphy.
Jim was a US Army Air Force Veteran.
He had been employed as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways.
He was a member of the Retired Teamsters 649, Carroll Rod and Gun, AM Vets, War Vets, and a fortyfive year member of the American Legion Post 556, Frewsburg.
Jim is survived by a daughter: Terri (Tom) Chisholm of Conneaut Lake, Pa., two granddaughters: Lisa (Carter) Atkins Stinchcomb, and Trisha Atkins Lynde (Matt), four greatgrandchildren: Tommy and Chris Lynde, Jacob and Eleanor Stinchcomb, two Step children: two brothers: Samuel (Carol) Murphy and Lloyd (Betty Jane) Murphy, a sister: Janet Neal, many nieces and nephews, and a niece Audrey Wargo, whom he was very close with.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Wilma Proetz Murphy and his second wife, Beulah Walsh Murphy, and two brothers, William and Paul Murphy.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.
The Rev. Mel McGinnis, Pastor of the Kiantone Congregational Church Will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the funeral home.
