Love Your Library"
The Friends of the Youngsville Library's fourth annual "Love Your Library" Raffle Basket Extravaganza fundraising event is going on now through March 14. For a $5 donation, participants will receive 10 tickets to be used toward any of seven uniquely themed "baskets".
The "baskets" are on display at the library.
"What makes this fundraising event so special is that there is a wide variety of high-quality baskets for people with all areas of interest to choose from. Each basket has a minimum value of $75, but most baskets are valued at much more than that," stated Library Director Kristy Wallace. "Also, people have the opportunity to decide which basket or baskets interest them and can distribute their tickets accordingly. So if you're lucky enough to win, you actually win something that you wanted."
The Annual Raffle Extravaganza has become the second major fundraiser for the library, after the September Book and Bake Sale.
Basket themes include: (1) "Gift Card Tree", (2) "Lottery Tree", (3) "An indoor-outdoor, cascading wall water fountain feature", (4) Triple Crock-pot unit (buffet style) with cookbooks, (5) "A Great for Guys" basket sponsored entirely by Youngsville NAPA and Pete's Beverage, (6) "An insulated picnic backpack with service for 4, cheese, crackers, and adult beverages, and (7) "Dinner and a Movie" that contains a $40 Applebee's gift certificate, a $20 Dipson movie gift card, and two additional DVDs for home use and candy.
"We are especially grateful for all the businesses that have either donated specific items, such as Pete's Beverage and Youngsville NAPA, or who have donated gift certificates for the 'Gift Card Tree' basket. Those businesses include: Kwik Fill, Tops Market, Youngsville Home & Garden, Mugs Cafe, Weidner's Deli & Genuine Jerky, The Galley, Darcy's Hair Boutique, and Outlet City/Simple Dicks," stated Friends President Evelyn Ann Stufflebeam. "Without the help of local and area businesses we wouldn't be able to offer so many items per basket."
Tickets are available at the Youngsville Public Library during business hours, from members of the Friends of the Library, and Library Board members. Ten tickets for a $5 donation or one ticket for a $1 donation. Library business hours are Monday and Tuesday noon-7:30; Wednesday 10-5; and Friday noon-4 pm.
