Memorial Day Parade
The Annual Memorial Day Parade on May 26 will start at 10 a.m. at YHS. The parade will proceed on Main Street to High Street and will conclude at the Youngsville Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the Youngsville Hallgren-Wilcox American Legion Post 658.
Warren County Christian School’s Junior Envirothon team finished 2nd in this past county contest. This is the second year in a row that “Abby’s Machines” have finished in second place. The members of the team are from left: Marcus Root, Abby Root, Hunter Reiff, Josh Jones and Tommy Jones.

and Silent Auction
A mission team will be traveling to West Virginia in July from Youngsville Evangelical UMC. A fund-raising dinner and silent auction will be held on Saturday May 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. The auction will ends at 6:30.

The Sanford-Grand Valley Sale Days will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 30-31. Sale times from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The sales will cover Eldred Township near Grand Valley. Maps of the sales; food and drinks will be available.

Love INC of the Brokenstraw Valley has two new board members: Ruth Gray from the Free Methodist Church of Sugar Grove and Nancy Rogowski of the Otterbein Church of Pittsfield.
A picnic will be held on June 22. Volunteers' Recognition for all volunteers and their families provided by the board of directors of Love INC of the Brokenstraw Valley. All Daughters Banquet
The Youngsville Free Methodist Church will be hosting an 'All Daughters Banquet' on Thursday May 22 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets available at the church office (563-9009). $7 for adults and $3.50 for those under 13. There will be special music, prizes and a fashion show.

An Alumni Reunion Committee meeting Class of 1969 will meet June 10 at the Youngsville Hallgren-Wilcox American Legion Post 658. Any classmate of 1969 is invited to attend to assist with planning for the event.
Rouse Manor Luncheon
The Rouse Manor luncheon for Rouse Manor residents and guests will be held Tuesday, May 27 this month due the Memorial Day holiday on Monday.
YHS Class of 1962 will host a reunion picnic on July 8 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Youngsville Fire Hall for graduating classes that are 50 years and older. The YHS Class of 1963 will be invited as guests. Cold cuts and beverages will be furnished. Bring a dish to share.

Dinner to benefit
local Cancer Patient
A benefit for Armida Allen will be held at the Youngsville Fire hall on Saturday, June 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. A spaghetti dinner along with other activities (auction, 50/50 drawing) will take place that day to help defray medical bills and expenses related to her cancer treatment.

Youngsville Hallgren-Wilcox American Legion Post 658 for a motorcycle ride on June 14. The American Legion is looking for new members to ride. In order to become a rider you must be an active member of Youngsville Hallgren-Wilcox Post 658 member or an Auxiliary member, Sons' of the American Legion can join the riders. Not just a Youngsville Legion member or you can also be any active Son of American Legion Post member.

Any individual or group is invited to contribute to this organization for the needs of the children.
Camp Halo is a Christian camp located in Spring Creek. "This is our 4th summer for the camp, in this location," said director Barbara Pfeil. "We run one week camps From June 27 - August 1, 2014. Camp Halo was started to be a safe place for kids who can't afford to go to camp. They come here to get a change from their everyday life. Campers are selected from Warren and Corry areas to attend camp free of charge."
Retreats for kids ages 6-15 enjoy three full meals each day, fun, games, swimming and crafts. The camp has daily devotions and chapel time each day. Camp Halo is solely run on generous support from the communities, organizations and individuals.
Camp Halo is in need of clothing for children ages 7- 15 sizes 6- 16 boys and girls and some adult clothing. New undergarments are needed for boy and girls. Many food items, paper products and sleeping bags, single sheets, pillows, school clothes, shoes, socks, single bed blankets.

Ride for Majengo
Three great rides: 100 miles, 60 miles and 10 miles Family Ride on May 25. Details: All rides start and end at the Youngsville Pharmacy.
Request of $25 entry fee and all riders are required to acquire at least $100 in pledges.
Pledges are due at the sign-in table. We will provide rest stations with water and snacks, "sag wagon," a commemorative T-shirt and plate of pasta at the finish line.

Located in the rural town of Mto wa Mbu, Tanzania the Majengo Children's Home was founded in 2008 by Lynn Connell. A group of friends from Warren paid a visit to the orphanage in early 2009 and upon returning home formed the Warren Majengo Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to raising the funds necessary to feed, clothe, house and educate the Majengo children. The original orphanage quickly proved too small, our numbers grew as did the children. In 2012 the local government granted the orphanage 10 acres on which to build a new facility with more spacious houses, gardens, soccer field, office, dining hall, kitchen, and laundry.
