Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Fifth Avenue Ext. at its intersection with Page Hollow Road on June 1 at 12:45 p.m. According to police, a 2005 Harley-Davidson driven by Jesse D. Nickerson, 31, Scio, N.Y., was traveling west on Fifth Avenue Ext. at a speed greater than reasonable as he was approaching a left-hand turn. Police said Nickerson lost control of the vehicle, laid it down and slid on the roadway for a short distance. Nickerson and a passenger, Melissa Nickerson, sustained minor injuries. Glade volunteer firefighters and EmergyCare assisted at the scene. Nickerson was cited for driving vehicle at safe speed through District Justice Laura Bauer's office.
Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Route 6 at its intersection with Route 59 on June 8 at 3:30 p.m. According to police, a 2009 Harley-Davidson driven by Bradley S. Messenger, 36, Waterford, was traveling west on Route 6 and was stopped at the red traffic signal at the intersection of Route 59. Two other vehicles were in front of him. When the light turned green, he proceeded west. Police said the vehicles in front of Messenger stopped as one of them was making a right-hand turn into a parking lot. Messenger applied his brakes and lost control of the motorcycle, sliding onto its right side for several yards. The motorcycle came to rest in the eastbound lane. Messenger was transported from the scene by EMS with what police described as minor injuries.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Akeley Road at the intersection with Cable Hollow Road on June 3 at 8:40 a.m. According to police, a 1997 Ford Ranger, driven by Matthew Jewell, 19, Russell, was traveling south on Akeley Road while a 2012 Toyota Rav 4, driven by Lisa Burkhouse, Warren, was traveling north. Police said Jewell lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a right-hand curve and traveled into the northbound lane. The left rear of Jewell's vehicle struck the left front end of Burkhouse's vehicle. Police said after initial impact, Jewell's vehicle came to rest in the intersection of the traffic island while Burkhouse's vehicle came to rest along the north berm. No injuries were reported. Jewell was cited for driving vehicle at safe speed.
