Do you live in the City of Warren, Elk Township or Glade Township and want to serve on the school board?
Good news for you there is now an opening.
Region I board member Trish Rosenstein tendered her resignation to the board during a special meeting held on Monday.
Rosenstein, who was elected to the board last November, cited "new professional responsibilities that require more significant travel out of the Warren area, leaving me with inadequate time to fulfill the duties of a responsible director for the school district" as the reason for her resignation.
Board President Arthur Stewart said a motion approved by the board "included an expression of thanks to Trish for the input she provided during her tenure. We noted that in her employment Trish deals with many of the issues the Board and District grapple with; Trish gave insight that will be missed."
The motion approved on Monday also established a special meeting on July 28 "in order to interview candidates to fill the position."
Interested candidates can obtain an application from the school district.
"The process required by law will involve public interviews at our special meeting on July 28," Stewart explained. "I expect we will fill the position on that date since the Board has 30 days to act."
