David and Ernestine Lawson celebrated their 50th anniversary earlier this month. The couple was married Sept. 4, 1973 in Russell. David, a native of Warren, and Ernestine, originally from Bradford, met at the Surf Club at Bemus Point. They love their music, the Outer Banks and their rambunctious dog, but mostly they cherish their 4 grandchildren and the times they are all together under one roof.
